The Veteran Outreach Program in the Town of Salina was created and established by the town supervisor Nick Paro.  He understood the need to assist veterans by installing a position that would oversee the veteran community in the Town of Salina.  No one knows veterans better than veterans, so Nick ensured the position was being filled by prior service members that have fulfilled a military service obligation.  The position was established in early 2022 and by May 1st Jeff Edwards assumed the role as the Town of Salina Veteran Outreach Coordinator.  Due to unforeseen reasons Jeff stepped down and the town hired Mike Hart to fill the role starting in May of 2023.  The program was responsible for setting up and running the 1st Annual Memorial Weekend Car Show which turned out to be a huge success!
